There is something about the sound of raindrops that soothes my soul. Even on a chili Fall day (like it is in middle Tennessee today), the rain has a calming effect on me.
Homework and housework await. But, I long to sit and reflect amidst the rain. I long to hear the silence of the heating unit hum, my fingers tap at the keyboard (sorry traditionalists, I'm a computer journal writer) and my dog pant at my feet all while the raindrops beat against my window. Those sounds are actually music to my ears. The raindrops brought me home after a doctor's appointment today. I could have been so much more productive while I was out and run a few more errands or picked up a few more items - they were on sale! However, the rain brought me home to savor the sounds of peace and quiet.
Today I am thankful for the rain.
What are you thankful for on this day?
