An Introduction to Embodied Listening and The Contemplative Journey
Do you long to be more attentive to God in your life? Want to learn to better listen and discern on the journey with God? Have a longing to help others listen for God in their lives?
Group Spiritual Direction is an opportunity to learn to listen more attentively to God in daily life, a chance to grow as a listener for others, and a safe space to discover what it means to share your own life with God on the spiritual formation journey. Attendance is very important in these group sessions so please assure that the group time works with your schedule. This is an intimate small group experience focused on embodied listening and the contemplative journey. This group is limited in participants and facilitated by trained spiritual director and yoga instructor Whitney R. Simpson.
Each session (6 total) of this series, we will explore listening to one another on our spiritual journeys as we prayerfully discern God’s activity together. No experience or religious knowledge is required to participate. Come with an open heart and mind and the desire to experience God's presence on your journey. Each session will begin with a time of centering and breathwork, opening our bodies and our spirits as we learn to listen with our whole selves.
Join us as we listen, breathe, discern, notice, and practice presence together in community. You'll leave our time learning more about being a spiritual listener for yourself and others.
In-Person (one spot available) beginning May 10, 2023:
The in-person session will meet on Wednesdays from 11:30 AM - 1 PM in Lebanon, TN once a month on the 2nd Wednesday from May to November (with no meeting in July 2023) for a total of 6 sessions. Your investment in this experience is $300 for the series and may be paid in payments if you prefer. Please note, a planned absence is understandable but attendance is strongly suggested for each session to allow for the full group experience.
On-line (now full, contact Whitney for waiting list/new time via form below) beginning May 17, 2023:
The on-line session will meet on Wednesdays from 10:30 AM - 12 PM Central Time via Zoom once a month on the 3rd Wednesday from May to November (with no meeting in July 2023) for a total of 6 sessions. Your investment in this experience is $300 for the series and may be paid in payments if you prefer. Please note, Please note, a planned absence is understandable but attendance is strongly suggested for each session to allow for the full group experience.
